Question Icon How do I determine a price for my domain?

There are several resources to assist you with pricing your domain name.

1) You can order an appraisal.
2) You can access our Appraisal Forum found on our DiscussNames.com to ask other domain owners and members their thoughts about your domain names. *If you are already an Afternic member, we have created you a DiscussNames membership.
3) You can search  Afternic for domain names that are similar to yours to see what they are being priced at.
4) You can also research recent sales in the domain industry to get a better understanding of current market prices. One great resource is the recent sales section of DN Journal.

TIP: Order one or two appraisals for domains that reflect the larger makeup of your portfolio.  This will give you a general understanding as to what other domains in your portfolio are valued at and you can apply these prices to the rest of your domains.

Question Icon I received a “price request” email, what do I do?

A price request email is critical, and requires swift response to increase your chances of a sale.  It means that there is an interested buyer who would like to know your Buy Now price.  Log into your Afternic account and set a Buy Now price right away.  Also, it is very important to set a Floor Price, as this will allow our sales force to negotiate on your behalf to help close the deal, if necessary.  Once your price is set, your sales representative will contact the buyer and work to sell your domain.

Buy Now Price: The Buy Now Price is ideally what you’d like to get for the domain.  We encourage you to price your domains to sell.  Too often, unrealistic price expectations turn buyers away.  Buyers simply choose another name.  Buy Now prices are binding.

Floor Price: The Floor Price is the amount an Afternic sales representative can negotiate to (if necessary) to sell your domain without contacting you.  Buyers do not see this price.  We recommend setting the floor price 20-30% less than your Buy Now price.  Floor prices are binding.

Question Icon What domain name extensions (TLD’s) can I sell on Afternic?

Afternic DLS lists and sells all TLD’s on the Afternic DLS Network. For Afternic DLS Premium only .com, .biz, .net, and .org domain names are accepted. If for some reason you do not see a TLD listed, please contact us.  To see a current list of accepted TLD’s visit our Advanced Search tool.

Question Icon How will I know when I have received an offer?

We will contact you via email immediately upon an offer being made on your domain.  Once you receive this email you can log in and take action accordingly.  Any offers you’ve received will be displayed in your dashboard upon logging in.

Question Icon Can I list my domain name on Afternic and have it listed for sale somewhere else?

You can, but it is much easier to manage your domains with Afternic’s one-stop-shop. You have maximum distribution and the benefits of parking revenue, as well as the sales leads Afternic parked pages provide you. If you do list in another marketplace, please remove sold and/or expired domain names from your Afternic account right away.

Question Icon Is Go Daddy an Afternic DLS Partner?

Yes!  Your priced domains will now appear in Go Daddy’s main search results. DLS names that are priced and live in the system will show up as premium offerings when a Go Daddy customer does a search.  If they click the “Buy Now” option they will be able to purchase the domain name on the Go Daddy site. Note that domains sold through Go Daddy do go through Afternic’s escrow process.
